Draft, pending legal review

This notice has not yet been reviewed by qualified lawyers in every market it applies to. It describes what we actually do, in plain language, and we intend it to be accurate — but until it has been through legal review it should not be relied on as the final, binding version. We will remove this banner when it has, and we will keep the change history.

Review guidelines

The rules a review is judged against, so a removal is never a matter of taste.

Applies in: UKUK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018

What we publish

  • Your own experience of a service you actually received, at a clinic or lab listed here.
  • Specifics: what you had, what it cost, how long you waited, how the follow-up went, whether you would go back.
  • Criticism. Negative reviews are the most useful ones on the site and we do not soften them.
  • Verified reviews — where we can match the review to a booking or an invoice — are labelled, and only verified reviews feed a clinic’s rating.

What we remove

  • Reviews from someone with no experience of the service, including competitors and anyone paid to post.
  • Anything offered in exchange for something: a discount, a free session, an entry into a draw. Both sides of that arrangement are removed and the clinic is told why.
  • Identifiable personal or medical information about anyone other than yourself, including staff members’ health, and any other patient.
  • A diagnosis or clinical assertion about another person.
  • Threats, slurs, harassment, or content targeting a protected characteristic.
  • Allegations of a crime or of clinical negligence. These are not for a review section — they go to the regulator, and we will tell you which one. We remove the allegation; we do not remove the rest of the review.
  • Content that is substantially copied, or posted repeatedly to move a rating.

Please do not put medical details in a public review

A review is public and indexable. Your results, your conditions and your medications belong in your health profile or with your clinician, not in a place anyone can read forever. If you include them we may redact them, and we will tell you we did.

How moderation works

  • Reviews are checked against these guidelines by the trust and safety team. They cannot see what a clinic spends with us and we do not tell them.
  • A clinic may reply publicly, once, and may report a review. It cannot edit or remove one.
  • If we remove your review we tell you which rule and let you edit and resubmit, unless the reason was a legal one.
  • If we decline to remove a review a clinic reported, we tell the clinic why.
  • A rating is computed from verified reviews only, and we show the count so you can judge whether the average means anything.

Safety reports

If you were harmed, or you believe a clinic is operating unsafely, a review is the wrong channel. Use the safety route on our contact page. Those reports go to a named person, are triaged within one working day, and are escalated to the relevant regulator where appropriate. We will not discuss your report with the clinic without your permission.

Questions about this notice go to the routes on the contact page, which lists the specific address for privacy, security, editorial and clinic matters rather than a single inbox that everything disappears into.
