Draft, pending legal review

This notice has not yet been reviewed by qualified lawyers in every market it applies to. It describes what we actually do, in plain language, and we intend it to be accurate — but until it has been through legal review it should not be relied on as the final, binding version. We will remove this banner when it has, and we will keep the change history.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links earn us a commission. Here is exactly which ones, and the rule that stops that from shaping what we say.

Applies in: UKUK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018

What earns us money

  • Links to retailers and labs where a purchase earns us a commission. Every one is labelled at the link.
  • Labelled sponsored placements in the clinic directory, which are always in their own block and never mixed into organic results.
  • Pay-per-lead charges when we pass a clinic an enquiry you chose to send.

The rule that makes it survivable

We only carry a commercial link to a product whose intervention page is graded B or better. If the grade drops below B, the links come down. That removes the most profitable part of the supplement market from us — the things with weak evidence and high margins — which is precisely why the rule is worth having.

Commission rates never vary with what we say. We do not accept payment for a review, a grade, a ranking or a placement in a comparison. See how we make money for every revenue line we have.

Where the disclosure appears

At the link, before the click, in plain words. Not in a footer and not on this page alone — a disclosure you have to go looking for is not a disclosure. This page exists to explain the policy, not to substitute for the label.

CAP Code rules on health and beauty claims: no claim that a product can prevent, treat or cure a human disease unless it is an authorised medicine. Prescription-only medicines are never advertised to the public, which is why dosing on drug pages is reported as study exposure and never as a recommendation. Affiliate content is identifiable as advertising at the point of the link, as the ASA requires.

What we do not do

  • Sell our own supplements, tests or programmes.
  • Run advertorial or paid editorial of any kind.
  • Accept free product in exchange for coverage.
  • Use affiliate performance as an input to anything editorial, including which pages we write next.

Questions about this notice go to the routes on the contact page, which lists the specific address for privacy, security, editorial and clinic matters rather than a single inbox that everything disappears into.
